In de stadsgracht tussen de bruggen De Brol en de Paardenpijp is het kunstwerk ‘Meetbaar Water’ van Jan Ros te vinden. Het werd in 2004 geplaatst ter gelegenheid van de afsluiting van het project om de grachten van de stad schoner en toegankelijker te maken. Het werk verwijst hier ook naar.
De constructie bestaat uit een rechthoekige betegelde kuip met daarin een staande mannenfiguur en een peilstok om de helderheid van het water te meten. De kuip verwijst naar het zwembad De Inktpot dat zich ooit in de gracht bij de Prinsentuin bevond en dat zo genoemd werd vanwege het bijna zwarte water.
Het is geplaatst ter afsluiting van het project om het water in de grachten schoner en toegankelijker te maken. Het ontwerp is ook een verwijzing naar het verleden, toen er praktisch in de stadsgrachten gezwommen werd.
