The first one in this 365 days project! This is one of my cameras I use for this project. A Zeiss Ikon Nettar 518/16 6x6 medium format folding camera from 1949. That is about 65 years old! It has a 75mm f/4.5 lens. This camera has no light meter so you have to guess the camera settings or use some external light meter.

Some of the chemicals used to develop film. Hopefully a bit environmental friendly. This photo looks simple but it wasn't. It was a low light situation and no flash. So long exposure time. No tripod so hand hold. Also the DoF (Depth of Field) is very shallow. About 8 cm. And there is no way with this old camera to check if things are sharp. So just a little guessing....

Suddenly, the road to my office was blocked.

The ir. D.F. Woudagemaal is a pumping station in the Netherlands, and the largest still operational steam-powered pumping station in the world. On October 7, 1920 Queen Wilhelmina opened the pumping station. It was built to pump excess water out of Friesland, a province in the north of the Netherlands.
In 1967, after running on coal for 47 years, the boilers were converted to run on heavy fuel oil. It has a pumping capacity of 4,000 m³ per minute. The pumping station is currently used to supplement the existing pumping capacity of the J.L. Hooglandgemaal in case of exceptionally high water levels in Friesland; this usually happens a few days per year. Since 1998 the ir. D.F. Woudagemaal has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.

This is not the Mamiya RB67 I use for this project. Although they are build like a tank, this one is broken.

Here they make concrete. An industrial area near Akkrum. Not the most beautifull place.

I visit Vlieland by sailboat. In the summertime this harbour is filled with boats. Now i am one of few.

Just a tree. The first photo made with my new (well old) Yashica Mat-124g. An TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) 6x6 camera. It seems to work very well after all those years. I like the square format.
This is also the first time I used Tri-X film. It's the photojournalist film for decades. I like the contrast and it's not to grainy.
